The Seychelles comprises of nearly 115 islands and is situated at a distance of 1600 kms from the East African Coast. This beautiful tropical paradise is an interesting mix of varieties of people belonging to different regions, races and cultures. People from various regions like Africa, Asia and Europe came to Seychelles during different historic time periods and brought along their distinctive customs and traditions with them. They contributed their unique cultures and intermingled and added on the vibrancy of the exceptional Seychellois culture.

The 115 islands of Seychelles are grouped into 2 districts- Inner Islands and Outer Islands. Seychelles is a year around tourist destination as it enjoys good tropical climate throughout the year. The season from October to March is perfect for a holiday as the sea is calm due to the trade winds of the North West. The weather is also enjoyable as it is comfortably humid and warm. Majority places in Seychelles have that virginal and untouched quality about them with waters as clear as crystals and beaches that are superbly dazzling. One gets to see so many unimaginable shades of green and blue in the Seychelles and enjoy the flavours and rhythms of beautiful nature.

The visitor must plan a visit to Seychelles as per the activity he or she wants to pursue. The months of May or October are best suited for sailing and windsurfing. Some beaches are resplendent during monsoon months and others are beautiful at the time of trade winds. The sport of diving can be best pursued in the period from March to May and September to November. The busiest and costliest tourist season is in the months of July, August, December and January. The tourists are enthralled to see the diverse cultures of Seychelles along with the traditional dance, music and black magic.

There are numerous tourist attractions in Seychelles with world famous pristine beaches, exotic flora and fauna, rich marine life and various historic buildings and houses. Victoria is the capital city of Seychelles, the smallest capital city of the world. It is situated on Mahe Island and is the only main port of Seychelles. Victoria is a charming little town, retaining the colonial flavour in the form of the main post office and courthouse in the town centre. Anse Lazio is the best beach of Praslin Island, with soft white sands along with rounded boulders of granite and line up of lively waves. This beach has perfect area for snorkeling.

The nature reserve at Cousin Island is another major tourist attraction of Seychelles. It is home to many endangered species like the various seabirds and turtles. Beau Vallon is also a superb beach, quite popular with tourists for its clean environs and multifaceted utilities. St Anne Marine National Park is a great place to visit for its beaches, forests and wildlife. There are many off beat tourist places as well, like the Aldabra Atoll, Curieuse Island and Silhouette Island and so on. Seychelles is well connected by air as many airlines operate direct flights from Africa, Mauritius, London and Australia via Singapore. The tourists can enjoy a perfect relaxing getaway at the tropical paradise of Seychelles.
