Cruises are considered to be interesting ways for spending vacations and enjoying during weekend breaks. They may turn out to be cheaper than air travel, but some of the cruise lines may have 5 star facilities and these may not come cheap. Many cruises give off season discounts. It is better to plan your cruise wisely, after some good study and research. You must read the brochure very carefully and read all that is in fine print as well. The various cruise lines have differently styled brochures. Majority of the cruise brochure are filled up with large amounts of information and photos.

Some cruise liners feature their complete fleet along with the itineraries in a single brochure; while others have a separate brochure for every single destination like the Bahamas, Hawaii, Caribbean and Europe and so on. The contents table is displayed at the brochure front. The brochure front also has some photos and illustration in addition to the information about the cruise liner and the available itineraries. The brochure then contains description about the offers of special programs like the kid’s programs. Here, you may also get a short description of the shore excursions and ports of call.

The brochure further lists the deck plans, fares, staterooms, hotel accommodations along with the earlier guest programs. A deck plan is the ship’s map with all accommodation levels, restaurant locations, lounges, bars, fitness center, swimming pool, casino, shops, spa, kid’s center and all offerings of the ship. The fine print is contained in the last part of the brochure and of course, this is the most important section. It includes the information about the terms, conditions, info of welcome aboard, questions and answers, important policies, contact information of the cruise liner and all that you need to know before you embark on the journey. The brochure back contains information about cancellation insurance, sea and air programs and the offer of amenity packages for your particular cruise.

The travelers must also check out the season before planning a cruise. The cruise lines may offer cheap cruises during the hurricane season, so you must choose the fall months for the best deal. This applies specially to the Caribbean cruises. The cruises offer good facilities for the disabled too, with more accessibility and wide array of cabins and cabin categories. All types of disabled people like the hearing or visually impaired, travelers with assistance dogs, people with smoking allergies, oxygen users, dialysis patients, diabetics and wheelchair users can travel comfortably in the cruise liners.

Try to go in for the shore excursions that are offered by the cruise liner, as they are more reliable and safer. Some people feel that they would rather choose to stay next to the laundry, so that they can finish this job early in the day before the rush sets in. In contrast, people who have stayed next to the laundry claim that they’ve been extremely disturbed by the noise and the chaos. The people who feel sea sick must choose the lower levels as they are more stable. Happy cruising to all the adventurous hearts!
