The travelers can look forward to an exciting holiday in Czech Republic in the form of glorious cultural heritage. Tourism picked up in this lovely landlocked country of Central Europe in the year 1989 with the ouster of communists. A democratic government came into power in 1989 with Vaclav Havel heading as the President. Czech Republic is bordered by the countries of Austria, Germany, Slovakia and Poland. The three important historical regions of Czech Republic are Bohemia, Moravia and Silesia. Prague is the capital city and it is the largest city as well. The tourists must make trips to the lovely river valleys of Labe (Elbe) and Vltava (Moladu), the Rocky Mountains and hilly landscapes.

The adventurous minded can seek pleasure in various sports at the Sumava Mountains in South Bohemia. Bohemia is renowned for winter sports and skiing also. Cesky Krumlov is a well-preserved medieval township. Cesky Raj in the northeastern part of Bohemia is best suited for mountain climbing and hiking in scenic landscapes. They are towering formations of rock. Moravia is an agricultural region and provides with vineyards, wooded highlands, castles, and folk art. Life moves at a leisurely pace in this part of the country. Brno has many historic towns like the Telc, Kromeriz and Olomouc.

The adventure enthusiasts can take hiking trips to the renowned Karlstejn Castle and the cave monastery. Czech Republic has nearly 1200 well protected natural regions and 3 lovely national parks. Skiing and cross country skiing are extremely popular sports in Krkonose Mountains, the highest mountains in the country. In summers, these same areas become popular with the hikers. Cycling and horse riding are also popular sports in the Czech Republic.

The people interested in water sports can look forward to many interesting water sports like fishing, sailing, canoeing and windsurfing in the various rivers and artificial and natural lakes. The golfers have great golfing avenues at the beautiful golf courses of the Czech Republic. Moravia and Bohemia have ample medicinal mineral baths and thermal springs that are frequented by patients suffering from different ailments.
