The cars are not a very comfortable way to reach Venice because the cars have to be parked outside the city limits and parking is quite expensive. The other ways to reach Venice are rental cars, buses and ships.
As cars are not allowed in the city, Venice becomes the lone pedestrian city of the world. It is really pleasant to walk around this beautiful pollution free city. You may feel standing and walking to be quite tiring, so gear up yourself before a trip to Venice and get used to walking. There are about 150 churches in Venice. You can take a combined pass for visiting three or more churches. The most notable churches are the Saint Mark’s Basilica, San Giovanni e Paolo, Santa Maria dei Miracoli and Santa Maria Gloriosa dei Frari.
