Las Vegas is primarily considered to be a gambling destination for all the tourists across the world. However, recently, it has become one of the most popular shopping destinations because of its discounted and popular shopping outlets. Las Vegas is also famous for the topographic view of the Death Valley which is situated in the lowest elevation in California. This valley is spread over 3.3 million acres of land and it includes complex geology, rare desert and wildlife, desert scenery, sites of historical interest and undisturbed wilderness. Death Valley is exceptional as it also comprises of the driest, hottest and lowest locations in the North American region. It also contains high rising peaks, which include the Telescope Peak which is at the height of 11,000 feet below sea level.
Death Valley also has a national park which offers many impressive natural sights such as Rainbow Canyon, Father Crowley Point, Titus Canyon and Dante’s View. Death Valley is also the home to over 1,000 species of wildflowers and in the special spring season after a wet rainy and winter season, the brown desert landscapes are carpeted with Technicolor meadows of budding flowers. It also stores in a museum which is situated in the center of the national park. This museum houses several exhibits, a natural valley history association bookstore and also an information desk for visitors.
Some of the places of interest in Death Valley include Badwater, Charcoal Kilns, Dante‘s View, Devil’s Golf Course, Furnace Creek, Mosaic Canyon, Natural Bridge Canyon, Racetrack Playa, Titus Canyon and Ubehebe Crater. Badwater is said to be a salt flat area which is below the face of the Black Mountains and it contains the lowest elevations at 86 meters below the sea level. This salt pan was initially created from the drying up of deep recent lake that happened around 200 to 300 years ago.
In the year 1867, Charcoal Kilns was initially built in order to reduce juniper trees and pinyon pines to charcoal in the procedure of slow burning. This particular fuel was later transferred to the mines of Death Valley in order to feed ore and smelting extraction operations. Dante’s View is situated on the Black Mountain along the Panamint Ranges across the valley. These structures were created when the surface of the earth was under the pulling force. Later the crust responded by sending long and large rough shaped blocks that formed the bedrocks of this valley.
Devil’s Golf Course is the largest salt pans of Death Valley National Park. In the year 1934, this area was named as the devil’s golf course because the parks guidebook stated that only devil’s could play golf on this surface. The depth of this place ranges up to 9000 feet and can be reached through Badwater area. Furnace Creek is one of the best places to visit at the Death Valley. It is a spring, village and an oasis which sits on the top of an outstanding alluvial fan. This area also consists of a resort where visitors of the park can stay and relax.
