Isolated Capital City-Perth

Perth is located in Australia’s huge state of Western Australia. It is Western Australia’s capital city and is world’s most isolated capital city. The city of Perth has an elegant location on the banks of River Swan. It has a huge widespread domain. Perth has an impressive and magnificent skyline. History and Present-day Perth

The Australian Aborigines occupied the Swan River region for nearly fifty thousand years before the British settlers arrived here and formed a colony under Captain James Sterling in June 1839. The colony survived the harsh conditions with help from convict labor. In the year 1871, Perth was declared as a city. The immigrants flooded the region during 1850s’ Gold Rush. The population of Perth grew further due to the post WWII immigration. Today, the population of Perth is about 1.47 million, of which about 200,000 are UK migrants. The population of Perth also comprises of sizable Italians, New Zealanders, Indians, South Africans and Malaysians.

Perth is commercially important as it is West Australia’s wheat industry’s distribution point and has an expanding wine industry along with large mining operations. The tourism industry in Perth is also a booming one and it is a notable education center as well. Perth is an extremely well designed and organized city with superb orderly streets.

Tourist Attractions

Perth has a dry and warm climate and the travelers can look forward to great sunshine and outdoors, owing to the setting. The business and shopping areas are clubbed together in the city center along with many historical buildings. The city center has two main cathedrals in addition to the Government House and His Majesty’s Theater. Northbridge is on the north side of Wellington Street and houses important galleries, museums and nightlife hub.

The city has numerous delightful gardens and parks, the most notable being King’s Park, which provides breathtaking city and river views. The eastern region of the city is home to a pleasant rural neighborhood. On the western side is the Indian Ocean with long stretching coastline of dazzling white beaches along side the Sunset Coast. Fremantle is a well preserved port of the nineteenth century and the tourist must surely visit it to get a glimpse into the early maritime history. The other noteworthy tourist attractions of Perth include Perth Zoo, Perth Mint, Hillary’s Boat Harbour, Claisebrook Cove, Burswood Entertainment Complex, Swan Bells, Mundaring Weir and Whiteman Park. You can enjoy walks on the beaches or go swimming or cycling, watch movies, salsa dancing and taste wine at the famed wineries. You can combine cycle tour along with river cruise for a wonderful experience in Perth.
