Some things which must be surely seen by tourists in New Caledonia are the Jean Marie Tjibaou Center. This center is something of a gift from the French government to the people of New Caledonia. The center has been constructed by an Italian architect Renzo Piano. The capital city of New Caledonia is the city of Noumea and this city is really very beautiful. The city has a very rustic air to it and a lot of French influence is highly visible.

Adventure tourists can have a really good time in New Caledonia with a variety of water sport options and hikes and mountaineering trips which are easily available. New Caledonia has some of the best beaches in the world and there are a couple of really beautiful coral reefs. Snorkeling is very popular and tourists can get to see some very rare aquatic life while snorkeling. Windsurfing is also very popular and a lot of surfers flock to New Caledonia to ride the waves. Hiking and camping are also very popular and a lot of companies offer hiking trips which are well organized and are a great way to experience New Caledonia.
