Package Holidays, Spain

Alcudia is a small but very popular resort on the northeast coast of the Spanish island of Majorca. With its sheltered bay and beautiful beach added to its hotels and international cuisine restaurants, it is a favored destination for English-speaking visitors as well as German, Scandinavian, and other holiday seekers.

The perfect way to spend a holiday in Alcudia is at an all inclusive destination such as the Bellevue Hotel with 1468 modern and nicely furnished studios and apartments in its 17 buildings on 200,000 square meters of landscaped grounds and many amenities including eight swimming pools and free parking. Included in the room price is a buffet for breakfast, lunch, and dinner; snacks; soft drinks and local alcoholic drinks; a cafe with large screen TVs; bars with dancing; the use of land sports equipment and a gym; and daily shows for entertainment. Activities such as water sports, tennis, volleyball, squash, billiards, go-karts, mini-golf, archery, horse riding, beauty services, pay movies and cable TV, and others are available but at an extra charge. The beach is only 500 meters away, is the longest beach in Majorca, and has warm waters.

The rooms have a kitchenette, balcony, satellite TV, and an in-room safety box. There are restaurants, cafeterias, pizzerias, bars including English and Irish ones, a large lobby and reception area, gift shops, gardens, marina, and lakes on which you can go canoeing. A currency exchange, tour and car rental desk, a mini-market, laundry/dry cleaning service, a doctor on call, and more are provided.

If it is a family vacation, for young children there is a mini-club and nine children’s swimming pools, babysitting and baby furniture rentals available, children’s TV channels and films, a supervised playroom, and a separate children’s buffet with catered dietary needs if needed. For older children there is a supervised games room with video games, pool tables, ping-pong, and an internet area. Activities programs are there for all ages as well as a disco.

If you want to go off-site, there are many nearby activities to take part in: regular and miniature golfing, boating, fishing, sailing, snorkeling, surfing, parasailing, scuba diving, water skiing, and windsurfing. There are also bicycle and scooter/moped rentals available, mountain biking, walking trails, horse riding, and a bird sanctuary.

The town of Alcudia has shops, a special twice-weekly market that features unique items such as leather goods and lace tablecloths and many souvenirs, a steep hill to climb which gives you a magnificent view, an active night life, and a water amusement park.

The Old Town of Alcudia is located only two miles away and is intriguing with its massive city walls , two gates, narrow street, and large towers. Near the town are Roman ruins including an amphitheater and one of the oldest churches in Majorca.

Fish restaurants are excellent at the harbor; and there are eating establishments with Mediterranean and European cuisine where you can get an English or Scottish breakfast, fish and chips, or Yorkshire pudding and roast beef. There is also a choice of Indian, Chinese, Italian, French, Spanish, and local dishes.

You can book cheap Majorca holidays from most UK tour operators.
