The place is known for its beautiful views which include spectacular skies as well as clear waters. There are numerous accommodation options in the area and many people choose to stay in the luxury cottages that are located close to the beach.

The area has plenty to keep visitors busy and it also has spectacular beaches. Those visiting should be prepared to pack picnics and get ready to enjoy some sun and sand. Staying in one of the cottages near the beach will mean that you have easy access to the ocean as well as the local tourist attractions.

The holiday cottages that are available in Torquay can suit all needs. They come in many sizes so if you are visiting with just a partner or a large group of family, you will find something spacious enough to suit your requirements. Torquay is very much a destination for those who enjoy water sports as there are many activities that you can partake in on the beaches local to the holiday cottages.

The beaches and waters make for perfect condition for doing some water skiing. There are experts in the area who have speedboats which will be able to organise the whole activity for you. This will be a safe and thrilling activity for all those who take part.

Under the waters there are other activities too. Snorkelling is popular and being able to see some of the marine life of the area will be astounding as it is rich and diverse. For those who are feeling a little more adventurous, then diving is also an option. As with the water skiing there are many operators on the beach who will ensure you have a good time while looking out for your safety.

If you travel a bit further away from your holiday cottage, you will discover Water Sports Torquay. This is a centre that offers visitors a great deal of water based activities. For adrenaline junkies there is the extreme donut boat ride – where you are pulled at high speed in an inflatable ring across the water.

For those who are more into relaxing rather than white knuckle activities, taking a banana boat ride is an enjoyable alternative. Whatever water sport you are into, or even if you just want to enjoy a picnic on the beach, Torquay will certainly provide everything you need.

From basic to luxurious, cottages, caravan parks, camping facilities and other options are available, providing access to beaches for swimming and surfing, tidal pools for exploring, walks and picnic spots galore. For cyclists there’s a truly marvelous opportunity in the Devon Coast to Coast route that is largely traffic free and you can hop on it anywhere from Ilfracombe to Plymouth.

The 95-mile stretch from East Devon to Dorset is England’s first World Heritage site, known as the Jurassic Coast, where 185 million years of Earth’s history is recorded in the rocks. The area is fascinating for its history alone, but added to its remarkable scenic beauty, it’s an ideal getaway for a family holiday, a romantic interlude or just a day at the beach.

Ilfracombe, on the North Devon coast, is one of the favorite spots for all sorts of entertainment. It is known for the Tunnel Beaches, delved out of the surrounding cliffs in the 1820′s to create the private beaches and tidal pools that were the ‘underpinnings’ of the fashionable Victorian resort. Today the area offers all the amenities of a modern holiday resort whilst retaining much of the charm of an earlier century.

South Devon is also famous for its relatively warm and sunny climate – in fact it’s called the English Riviera. This is a fabulous spot for walking or cycling tours, and beaches such as Blackpool Sands, Dawlish Warren and Paignton offer every activity from sun bathing to sailing, with swimming and snorkeling in between and surfing for the adventurous. There’s even one named Beer, in a sheltered cove that’s called a suntrap and still supports a working fishing boat harbor.

Altogether, there really is something for every age and interest on this magnificent coast, but maybe one of the greatest attractions is its quality of unspoiled and unexploited natural beauty. It’s all there for your enjoyment and refreshment, as it’s been since the British Isles were formed.

If you are arriving in the UK via air, you may want to hire a motorhome to see the wonderful Isles.

Scafell Pike is situated in the Lake District and the highest mountain in England, rising to over 3,200 feet. You can make the Lake District your motorhome destination and enjoy all that the area has to offer, and there are many motorhome and camping facilities to choose from..

Cheddar Gorge in Somerset is located at the Mendip Hills’ southern end. There you will find the deepest gorge in England plummeting over 150m, naturally carved by nature out of the Limestone cliffs. You can take in the Clifftop Gorge Walk that is a round trip of about three miles and can also enjoy a ride on an open top bus if the walk is too much. Also in the area are great hiking trails and for the more adventurous, caving and opportunities to climb.

In the Northern Irish County of Antrim, you will find the Giant’s Causeway which was formed over 60 million years ago by the cooling of lava. Local legend says different however, and the story goes that Finn MacCool created the Causeway for a fight he was to have with a Scottish giant.

Wherever it came from, be it geological or mythical, the Causeway is a unique formation of rock that resembles a different series of stepping stones made of granite that will accommodate even the largest of feet.

In Powys Wales, there is Pistyll Rhaeadr, or Spring waterfall, to admire. This is Wales’ highest waterfall with a drop of over 75 metres, making this natural masterpiece a breathtaking sight, and it’s surrounded by wonderful scenery with great opportunities to walk or hike. There are trails that will take you from the lowest point in the gorge to the top of the waterfalls, giving you a different perspective from the two levels.

In Scotland there is the beautiful Loch Lomond the separates the lowlands of central Scotland from the Highlands. Lomond is mainland Britain’s largest lake at over 24 miles long with its deepest point being over 620 feet. To go along with the stunning scenery is excellent hiking, golfing, rock climbing and water sports. There are over 60 islands in the loch and these are often described as the jewels on the surface of Lomond.

Culture vultures have just a few weeks to prepare for The Windsor Festival Spring Weekend, which is set to take place next month.

This year’s event is set to be extra special, given that it is celebrating its 40th anniversary, having been founded in 1969 by conductor and violinist Yehudi Menuhin and Ian Hunter.

Highlights of the event are set to include a performance of Bach’s Mass in B minor in St George’s Chapel at The Windsor Castle.

Meanwhile, the Southbank Sinfonia – along with players from the Academy of St Martin in the Fields – will be playing pieces by Beethoven at the Picture Gallery at Royal Holloway.

Talks and book signings, as well as children’s activities, bring a literary touch to the event, with projects taking place across the region over the course of the three-day festival.

Postal booking for tickets will begin on Tuesday February 24th, followed by the launch of the event’s website – which will provide online booking facility – the following day. Information on ticket prices will be made available closer to the time.

As such, it may be a prudent measure to get hotels in Windsor booked sooner rather than later in order to avoid disappointment.

It’s a stupendous task to find a proper accommodation whenever one sets out for an outing. It becomes more difficult when kids are along. Selecting an accommodation completely depends on the type of holiday one wants to spend. People have a wrong notion about hotels being places of complete sanctity. Hotels are fine, but they do not ensure privacy. To get a perfect mix, one has to slip to the option of villas. Holiday villas offer the complete privacy which one cannot find in hustle and bustle of the city life.

Advantages of villas

The basic advantage of villas is that they are far away from the cluster of pollution and population. Villas also act as nature cure centers, as they comprise of greenery all over. Some of the best villas in the world are the ‘Menorca Holiday Villas’, located at ‘San Jaime Complex’. The beaches there are simply amazing. They have the facilities and excitement to cater to every age group, right from having an ice cream under the sun to exploring some great adventurous water-sports. One can reach the nearest beach from Menorca by boarding a mini-train which costs only two euros/seat. If one happens to be a fitness freak, walking would also be pleasurable.

The feeling of renting one’s own villa while on a vacation sounds great. These villas consist of all the basic luxuries inclusive of private pools, main service, and a private chef as well. Villas can be cheaper than a customary hotel room, if the right place is chosen at the right time and a proper research on villas in that area is carried out.

Frugal Villas

There is a peak season and an off-season when it comes to travel destinations. ‘Peak and ‘off ‘refer to the number of people visiting the place then. The rents of villas soar when a large number of people visit that place. However, during the off-season, villas offer a tremendous discount on their rent. So, it’s better to travel to a particular destination during its off-season, to make an affordable holiday.

Amenities provided by villas

Villas offer an excellent private luxury. One can have the entire villa on rent with no people interfering. Normally, villas accept a payment on a weekly basis. It’s mandatory to acquire trip insurance, which leads to putting about 20-50% of the rent prior to traveling. This amount is paid back later, if any tragedy does not take place in the mean time. This goes to show that investing in villas is ultimately beneficial.

If taking a vacation abroad is on the cards and a luxurious stay is the anticipation, private villas are the best option. They are very much economical as well. They give one the feeling of being in a second home. Along with the off-season rates, exceptional ‘Honey Moon’ rates are also available. Advanced booking in the form of deposit is inevitable in the villas. In places such as Pattaya, Phuket and Krabi in Thailand one can find a wide range of villa accommodations to enchant travelers of all tastes. Now a days, villas also provide facilities such as air conditioning (individually controlled), entertainment systems, DVDs and CDs or PCs with an internet.

Montenegro is a country situated in Southeastern part of Europe and is bordered on the south by the Adriatic Sea. Its bordering countries include Croatia, Herzegovina, Bosnia, Serbia and Albania. Podgorica is the capital city of Montenegro and also the largest in size. Montenegro is the newest country of the world, having gained its independence only recently in the year 2006. The history of Montenegro dates back to the time before 9 AD, and the first settlers as per the historical records are the Illyrians. The Romans conquered it in 9AD. The area of Montenegro was heavily colonized by the Slavs in the 5th and 6th centuries. It formed a principality of semi-independent type, Dolcea and was involved in the medieval politics of Balkan along with tie-ups with major Byzantium and minor Rascia. It became a kingdom in 1077. It came under unified Serbian realm towards the end of the 12th century and the mid 13th century saw the collapse of the Serbian empire, followed by the rule and prominence of Balsics, an influential family. Then, another family called Crnojevics came into power in the mid 14th century till the end of the 15th century. Later, Montenegro came under several rules like the Ottoman Empire, Serbian Orthodox Metropolis, Austrian Empire and Yugoslav rule.

Montenegro has a very diverse geography with high mountains, costal plains, beaches, rugged terrains, lakes, canyons, bays and national parks. It is also home to world heritage sites listed by the UNESCO. These include the ancient city of Kotor, Tara River Canyon and Durmitor. Montenegrin culture has passed through various influences during its history like the seafaring Adriatic or the Orthodox South Slavic and so on. The visitors are able to see these influences in the architecture represented in Roman, Baroque and Gothic structures. The religious monuments worth visiting include the Cathedral of Saint Tryphon, St. Luke Basilica, Our Lady of the Rocks and Savina Monastery along with many more.

If you wish to become a successful traveler, learn to travel light and safe. The task of traveling light is very easy and simple indeed. You need to keep in three main things in mind, while you are packing your stuff for your journey. These tree things include the type and size of packing, things to be packed and the way in which things are to be packed. Firstly, you must make a list of the things that you require during your journey. This list can be prepared by considering the period and purpose for which you are traveling. If you are traveling for longer period, then you might need more things. A shorter trip will surely require fewer amounts of things and items to be packed.

The travel packing will also depend upon the purpose of the journey that is whether you are on leisure or business trip. For a business trip, you will need your personal belongings along with certain official papers etc. If you are combining business with leisure, then you will need more things which will cater to both the purposes. You must avoid yourself from packing too many things, as this will lead to many problems. It is best to pack only that what is required. A list of things to be packed comes in very handy, you can prioritize items and tick off things that are not extremely essential. The packing list should include your daily clothing items, toiletries, footwear and any extra items that are required for any adventure sport.

Try and find out the weather and climatic conditions of the place you are visiting. Then, you can decide if you should be carrying heavy or light woolens. You can also get information about the things that are provided onsite for the purpose of various adventure activities. You can straight away strike off those things from your list, if they are available readily in the place that you intend to visit. If you are going on a business trip, you will require formal clothes and these need to be managed properly, so that they don’t get wrinkled. Most of the hotels are fully equipped with state of the art business facilities; hence you need not carry all the paraphernalia of laptop etc. You can make use of the facilities available at the hotel.

Once you have decided upon the types of bags and numbers of baggage to be carried, think about how you are going to pack all the things in your packing list. The things that you require least or those items that would be required later can be packed first. The things of daily use should be packed in such a manner that you can get them as and when you want them. Paste one copy of the packing list in your bag and keep its duplicate copy with yourself so that you are able to track things. Always keep your original and duplicate papers of credit cards, passport, visa etc. in 2 separate packages. If you travel light, you will save yourself from a lot of headache and problems.
