Cornwall has been popular with tourists for decades, but if some of the rumours about the next Pirates of the Caribbean film prove true then it may be that people flock to Cornwall for more than just its beaches and weather.
The rumours are that sections of the next film will be shot in St Ives, one of Cornwall’s gems. If this beautiful seaside village is used, then you can be sure that holiday parks in the area will see a huge influx of guests coming to try and catch a glimpse of the action whilst shooting is in progress, or coming to see the sights that appeared in the film for years afterwards.
It’s also going to increase the appeal of Cornwall for family holidays, as parents will be able to bring their children to walk the streets that were seen in one of their favourite films. Tourism is a very important part of Cornwall’s economy, so news like this is very welcome. It also means that those living in the UK can take advantage of being able to visit places used for the shooting of Hollywood blockbusters without having to travel all the way to California.
There are plenty of good reasons that St Ives has been chosen. Cornwall has always had a strong link with pirates and maritime life, so including what would have been one of England’s most important naval regions at the time makes sense in a film about period naval action. It’s also a gorgeous place, and will look beautiful on film.

Found this very interesting post (my daughter is a massive Jonny Depp fan so would be delighted if we could see him whilst on holiday!) whilst looking for info on our upcoming holidays to St Ives, so im hoping others will too, who could mayby provide me with some information. After searching for caravan holidays in st ives I came across the site called Trevarrack (I just hyperlinked it there, look at me techno wizard!ha) and was wondering if anyone had been to this site or any others around St Ives and could give me a recommendation or some info on it? I know its a bit of a long shot but I don’t know where else to ask? Thanks in advance. Danny
