Ibiza is known as one of the best party destinations in the world, but outside of the clubs and non-stop nightlife, there is a much more colourful side to the island that is a bit more natural. In fact, Ibiza offers plenty of history, stunning countryside, and a dozen wonderful beaches making it a great place for family holidays as well.
Although Ibiza may not pop into your mind as a great family location right off, the fact is that there are plenty of activities and attractions to keep a family busy all week. In fact, its geographical features such as the Can Marca Caves make a great visit as they are 100,000 years old and offer a great chance to see bones, fossils, and stalactites firsthand.
If you want to get around the island quickly, Jeep safaris are a great way to do so since they allow you to see must of what the island has to offer without breaking a sweat. With car hire available all around the island it is easy to get anywhere you want to go.
During the heat of the summer days, if you need to get some relief from the sun the Aguamar water park in Playa d’en Bossa is a great stop that will delight the kids. It has seven different slides spread out across the park and even offers a great picnic area for lunch.
Or, you can head over to the Formentera Island and try out the beaches, which are much more quiet and tranquil than those in Ibiza and can be reached easily via a ferry from the city of Ibiza. Of course, Ibiza has plenty of beaches to offer as well such as Cala Llonga with shallow water and golden sands that make the shoreline perfect for families.
