Palma, Spain-European City Break

Amongst the Spanish attractions, Palma is the most sought after travel destination right now. It is one of the best places for hanging out on weekends. Many of you might be unaware of this walled city. The history goes to state that Palma was a ‘Moorish Casbah’ initially. It is a home to a number of restaurants, hotels, and nightclubs. What adds to the beauty of Palma is the abundance of yacht masts over here.

Despite of living in the 21st century, Palma has not left its old and aesthetic looks behind. Its antique appearance reminds one of the ancient European cultures. If you walk down the streets, you would distinctly notice their narrowness. Exploring them on foot would just be a delightful experience. A scenic trip covering a distance of 17 miles can be carried out through Soller Railway.

You can also pay a visit to Bellver Castle of the 14th century. Other places worth visiting include Museu d’art Espanvol Contemporani, and those depicting works by Dali and Picasso. He who wishes to enjoy the night life thoroughly can drop in at Palma.

Top attractions of Palma

Let some light be thrown on one of the top tourist destinations of Palma.

Abacanto

The ‘Abaco Bar’ can be referred to be amongst the most exceptional bars located in Palma. The district in which it lies is ‘La Lonja’. The name of the location is ‘Calle Sant Joan’. You are bound to miss this bar from street owing to it being hidden behind an unassuming wooden door. It is believed that the person not paying visits to this bar has missed out on Palma itself.

Magnetism

Localites won’t be found here much. It’s the number of tourists that flock around Abaco Bar. The atmosphere here is extremely low-key, with sounds of tinkling fountain being heard. You could also hear the chattering of songbirds in background. Interior comprises of a sixteenth century palace, now converted into a monument by adorning with candlelight, and spilling of fruits and flowers at every place. The cocktails here cost too much- around 15 euros. However, you would realize that considering the taste, they are simply worth it. If simplicity is your priority, casual drinks like wine, or a beer can be tried out. These drinks have not been shown on menu. Hence, you have to ask for them on an individual basis. It’s advisable to not exceed beyond 2 as they are awfully strong.

Other aspects

Want something icy? Have the wonderful ice cream over here. The music played falls in the category of ‘Western Classical ones’. A lot of personal attention is given by waiters. Photography is strictly prohibited. So, do not try playing mischief. This bar remains open from 8:00 p.m onwards (everyday). On midnight of every Friday, petals of rose are scattered. This happens through ceiling. The beauty of this incident can leave a permanent mark in the eyes of beholder. Couples have a 100% scope to enjoy at the ‘Abaco Bar’. The ambience is so good that it just lets you forget your every worry, and be happy, at least for the time being.
