taj 300x247 Stunning AgraAgra, the beautiful Indian city, is north of the state of Uttar Pradesh and something more than 200 kilometres from the capital New Delhi. Due to high industrialization, that has existed for decades the high levels of pollution, some of its magnificent monuments are undergoing a process of deterioration.

Agra some of the most important monuments found in India, both culturally and from a historical point of view. And a legion of street vendors who will provide crafts and typical products are sure to pick you out in the crowds that swarm the city streets.

The main monuments that we find in the city is the awe inspiring Taj Mahal. Legend says that a ruler of this state built for his beloved so as to have anything to rival its beauty. In addition, it is considered as world heritage site by UNESCO.

If we talk of military construction, you should not fail to see the Agra Fort, a stronghold that is also known among the locals as Lal Qila or Red Fort. Its construction is made of red sandstone and its conservation status is relatively good.

Its construction dates from the sixteenth century and was ordered built by a Mughal emperor Akbar name. Like the Taj Mahal it has been included by UNESCO as world heritage.

Religious monuments occupying a prominent place in this city include the Sikandra, tomb of Emperor Akbar, who built the Red Fort. Located 10 kilometres from the city visits can be made both in the mornings as the afternoons.

Itmad-Ud-Daulah, another of the monuments that you should visit was ordered built by Empress Nur Jehan, and is usually compared to the Taj Mahal. This building was ordered to build the president to honour his father Guides Beng-ud-Din.

The great mosque of Jama Masjid talks about the era in which the Muslim religion was abundant in this city and was built in the year 1648 so that the faithful should have a place of worship in which to honour the prophet Muhammad
