UK, Weekend Breaks

Culture vultures have just a few weeks to prepare for The Windsor Festival Spring Weekend, which is set to take place next month.

This year’s event is set to be extra special, given that it is celebrating its 40th anniversary, having been founded in 1969 by conductor and violinist Yehudi Menuhin and Ian Hunter.

Highlights of the event are set to include a performance of Bach’s Mass in B minor in St George’s Chapel at The Windsor Castle.

Meanwhile, the Southbank Sinfonia – along with players from the Academy of St Martin in the Fields – will be playing pieces by Beethoven at the Picture Gallery at Royal Holloway.

Talks and book signings, as well as children’s activities, bring a literary touch to the event, with projects taking place across the region over the course of the three-day festival.

Postal booking for tickets will begin on Tuesday February 24th, followed by the launch of the event’s website – which will provide online booking facility – the following day. Information on ticket prices will be made available closer to the time.

As such, it may be a prudent measure to get hotels in Windsor booked sooner rather than later in order to avoid disappointment.
